Thanks to all who joined us for the latest Bairns Business Club’s Breakfast Club! Attendees were treated to great insights from our guest speaker. We were honoured to welcome Claire Kennedy, who spoke about the vital work of Strathcarron Hospice. The Hospice is a beacon of hope and support in our community, providing specialist hospice and end-of-life care. It was an eye-opening presentation which highlighted the importance of fundraising to help support the great work they do.
A special thanks to all members who donated. The sum of £237 was raised at the breakfast, which will go directly to Strathcarron Hospice.
Claire kindly shared the below information, which includes ways you can assist with fundraising.
Strathcarron Hospice provides specialist end of life care to people across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld & Kilsyth – completely free of charge. We help people to live well, until the end of their life and make every moment count. We provide care in our In Patient Unit, via Clinical Nurse Specialist visits and Hospice at Home care. Additionally, we offer Patient & Family Support, Bereavement Services and Education for other settings providing palliative care such as Hospitals and Care Homes.
Every day, our Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and multi-disciplinary team support people to live well and importantly, to die well, and with your support we can make this possible.
We are here for the community because of the community and we have to fundraise to keep our services running.
We organise a range of fundraising initiatives throughout the year for people and businesses to get involved in.

The Great Wall of China has been voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Stretching for 6,000km, it zig-zags its way across China, snaking across mountains and through valleys.
Join #TeamStrathcarron as we hike for five days along this magnificent man-made structure. One of the best in the market, our challenge takes us over watch towers and mountains, through historic battlement stations that are well off the tourist trail – there are many sections during this challenge where we’ll feel the Great Wall is for us only, with no-one else in sight. Rest assured, the Great Wall of China provides a fantastic backdrop to some fantastic trekking.
Starting our adventure in the capital of Bangkok, we’ll spend five days cycling through the rugged beauty of Southern Thailand.
Cycle Thailand is an adventure of a lifetime, as we explore the picturesque Gulf of Thailand, cycling through a range of stunning sights before taking in the breathtaking views of Koh Samui. It may sound like paradise – but remember, this is a challenge! We’ll be cycling a total of 391km over five days, with some long, tough days in the saddle! But fear not – we’ll be fully supported from start to finish as we journey along Thailand’s tropical beaches.
Upon completing our cycle challenge we’ll have chance to relax on Koh Samui – an idyllic island, known for its world class cuisine and sun soaked beaches. The perfect location to celebrate our achievements and rest those tired legs!
